Audiology at Witham
Audiologists are health care professionals who evaluate, diagnose, manage and treat hearing problems. An Audiologist has received an Au.D. (Doctorate in Audiology) or a Master’s degree from an accredited university graduate program in Audiology. The Witham Audiology Department provides assessments for infants, children and adults.

Concerns we help address include:
- Pediatric assessments related to congenital issues, middle ear infections, and other disorders.
- Newborns that did not pass their hearing screening.
- Tinnitus (ringing in the ears).
- Hearing issues as a result of noise exposure, middle ear pathologies, etc.

Assessments help us understand the best course of action
Assessments may include:
- Comprehensive hearing evaluations for all ages.
- Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs) to evaluate the inner ear/cochlea.
- Auditory Brainstem Response Testing to rule out auditory neuropathy and to estimate hearing threshold levels.
- Tympanometry to evaluate the function of the middle ear.
