During the evening of Wednesday, June 10, Witham Health Services experienced an electrical panel failure affecting electric service to some of the cooling systems serving its main hospital campus. Critical systems including phone and internet services were impacted. Crews worked throughout the night to install temporary cooling solutions and repair the panel.

“Caring for our patients is our highest priority,” said Chief Medical Officer, Wm. Ross Strong, M.D. “We are working diligently to ensure all our patients continue to receive the highest level of care.”

Surgeries and outpatient procedures scheduled for June 11 have been canceled and some patients have been transferred to nearby hospitals to ensure they continue to receive the level of care they need.

Work is ongoing to restore cooling systems, phone, and internet services. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
