Julie Hawkins, MSN, RN, NEA-BC - Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer


Julie Hawkins joined Witham Health Services in 2022 as Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer. She previously worked at Community Hospital North as Director of Nursing for over 6 years. Julie's extensive nursing leadership includes nearly 5 years at St. Vincent and over 10 years of experience at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital. Julie graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Purdue University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Ball State University. She also earned her credentials as Nurse Executive Advanced - Board Certified via the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification with a focus on strategy, high-level finance, resource management and system integration. Professional affiliations include the following: American Nurses Association, Indiana State Nurses Association, American Organization for Nursing Leadership,


and the Indiana Organization for Nursing Leadership.

Get to know Julie……

1. Where do you live? - Are you from around here? - Do you have siblings?
   
   
   I live outside of Lebanon in the country. I have one OLDER sister that lives in Speedway.

2. Are you married? Children? Names? I have been married for 19 years, to my wonderful husband, Ryan. Ryan is a junior high school teacher at Western Boone. We have 2 amazing children. Maddie is 18 years old and attends University of Evansville majoring in nursing and playing volleyball. Go PURPLE ACES! Gavin is 15 years old and is a sophomore at Webo. He plays tennis, basketball, and baseball. They both keep us very busy, which we love!
3. What did you want to be when you were a child?
   
   
   Cliché as it is…I always wanted to be a nurse since the 3^rd grade. We had to do a report on a person in history and I chose Clara Barton. From then on I knew I wanted to be a nurse.

4. What is your favorite vacation place?
   
   
   Any place that has a beach! J
5. Do you like to dance?
   
   
   Love to dance, am I good?…nope!
6. What really makes you angry?
   
   
   When my kids steal my phone charger…
7. What motivates you to work hard?
   
   
   Anything that makes things better for our patients, team, and organization…
8. What is your favorite sport to watch or play?
   
   
   I love to watch and play volleyball but I’m a much better spectator!
9. What are your hobbies?
   
   
   Traveling and watching my kids play their sports.
10. Do you have pets? If so what are they and their names?
    
    
    I have 3 dogs. Spencer and Baxter are Golden Retrievers and Zoey is a Shichon (Shih Tzu/Bichon mix). She is mylittle lap and therapy dog. J
11. What is your favorite holiday?
    
    
    Christmas. I love our house at Christmas time with all the lights and 8 Christmas trees!
12. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
    
    
    Usually, around 45 min but it always starts with coffee!

13. How many pairs of shoes do you have?
    
    
    Too many to count…..can you ever have enough?

14. What was your favorite subject in school?
    
    
    I would say math and science.

15. Do you like to sing?
    
    
    I love to sing…alone…in my car blasting the music. Sometimes my family gets the pleasure of hearing me sing as well. I know they love it!

16. Aside from necessities what is 1 thing you could not go a day without?
    
    
    Coffee!
