Nutrition
Quality nutrition is important if you have cancer because both the illness and its treatments can change your appetite. They can also alter the way your body processes certain foods and nutrients. Education will include learning about how to eat well during treatment and continuing healthy habits after treatment.
What to Expect
Witham offers an opportunity for adults affected by cancer to meet twice a week in a group setting. Participants will fill out a health questionnaire, release of liability and need a medical release signed by their physician.
Each session will begin with light snacks, education, and support group. Each participant comes to the program with different physical challenges which will be addressed during the second portion of class; yoga, tai chi, low impact aerobic activity and gentle stretch training. Comfortable clothing and supportive shoes are recommended.
