Birth Choices Childbirth Education
This childbirth education class is designed to prepare mother and father (or other support person) for the birth of their baby. Our prenatal educator will cover various topics ranging from breathing techniques to delivery options.
Breastfeeding Made Easy
Breastfeeding is normal and natural, but it’s learned as well as instinctive. Help is often needed to make mothers feel comfortable and relaxed so that they can comfortably breast feed their baby. This one-day class is available for expectant and new mothers who would like to learn more about breastfeeding from a certified lactation consultant.
Newborn Care Class
The Witham Maternity Center wants to support our families in all areas involved with bringing home a new baby. This includes a class to help parents learn about the care their newborn will need in the hospital through their first month. The class discusses bonding, feeding, sleeping, diapering, bathing, growth spurts, and their first doctors visit.
Cesarean Education Class
The Witham Maternity Center offers a special class designed for mothers delivering their baby by cesarean. The class features videos, discusses reasons and preparations for a cesarean, the coaches role in the cesarean birthing experience, recovery, new mom at home, and birthing choices in the future.
Breastfeeding Support Group
Witham
offers a breastfeeding support group for those moms choosing to breastfeed their babies. The support group meets once a month.
Teen Expectant Mom Class
We offer a class for expectant teenage mothers. Expectant moms will learn the stages of labor for teens, comfort techniques, interventions, tour the Maternity Center and view a newborn video.
