Types of services
Our top-quality staff, equipment and protocols ensure a safe and highly-detailed study is produced. With the latest in state-of-the-art technology for CTs, MRIs, US, NM and Digital Mammography, we can conduct studies and provide images that address even the smallest areas of concern. Below are the primary radiology services we offer:

Diagnostic Radiology
Computed Tomography (CT): CT imaging utlizes special radiology equipment to produce multiple images in order to produce multi-dimensional views. Our advanced 256 slice technology enables faster and more detailed images when compared to more conventional scanners. This allows Witham the ability to offer more advanced procedures, such as Heart Score, CT angiography (CTA), Cardiac CT and Virtual colonoscopy.

Nuclear Medicine Scan: Nuclear medicine exams use small amounts of radioactive tracers, cameras and computers to diagnose various cancers, heart diseases and other metabolic organ functions. For example: Planar and/or SPECT imaging of brain, bone, liver, gallbladder, stomach and kidneys; nuclear cardiology procedures, diagnostic procedures for thyroid disease.

Ultrasound: Ultrasound uses sound waves to develop detailed images of organs such as the liver, gallbladder, thyroid, and kidney, among others. Our 4D ultrasound technology allows detailed images of the unborn baby.  Furthermore, many biopsies are performed using ultrasound such as the breast and liver.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): MRI uses a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses and a computer to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues, bone and virtually all other internal body structures. And, our OPEN MRI with Ambient Experience, located at Anson, offers a pleasant experience for our patients with a wide opening that reduces anxiety and claustrophobia.  The main campus features Toshiba's Vantage Titan MRI.  The MRI and it's room layout is designed to create a relaxed and patient friendly environment.  Some of the features include: Greater patient comfort by having a wider opening, a less intimidating look by haveing an ultra short machine, and 90% reduction in acoustic noise which is the best industry standard.  The room layout features a skylight, curved glass windows overlooking a beautiful courtyard.

Digital  3D Tomosynthesis Mammography: About 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer over their lifetime. This is why it is so important for women over the age of 40 to schedule their mammogram. Witham offers many comprehensive breast services, including breast ultrasound and stereotactic breast biopsy to win the fight against breast disease. Furthermore, our Women's Center is a designated Breast Imaging Center of Excellance; meaning our quality exceeds the rigorous standards set forth by the American College of Radiology.

Witham is proud to offer digital breast tomosynthesis, or 3D mammography, to our patients. 3D mammography is a FDA approved screening and diagnostic tool designed to detect breast cancer. 3D mammograms work by imaging the breast by layer to more accurately find abnormalities. This allows physicians to detect breast cancers more precisely and reduce follow up testing. In fact, 3D mammography finds 40% more breast cancers and reduces the callback rate by 40%. Ideal candidates for 3D mammography are women who have dense breast tissue, or those who are getting their mammograms for the first time. To learn more about 3D mammography, click the link below.
